Lasers for More Comfortable Care

Lasers deliver intense light via fiber optics to heat small target areas of tissue in order to remove them. They are commonly used in place of a scalpel in many medical procedures. Other than potential pacemaker interference from the laser controls’ radio frequency, you can safely undergo laser procedures involving gum tissue, alveolar bone and teeth as well as laser root-canal therapy.

Laser treatment benefits

Laser treatment is more precise, with less bleeding both during and after the procedure. Plus, patients experience very little post-operative inflammation, pain, swelling, infection or other complications.

A laser authority

Dr. Kutsch helped pioneer many different types of lasers and served as the first president of the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He currently is active on the Board of Directors of the newly formed World Clinical Laser Institute and actively consults for the laser industry, teaching at many international programs as well as training the dentists in our own office.

Laser advancements

Recent advances in laser technology have resulted in the development of a hard tissue laser. This laser uses a water spray in front of a precise laser beam that safely removes controlled amounts of tooth structure. The best application for the hard tissue laser is for small cavity preparations. In these situations, the laser can be used comfortably without the need for anesthesia.
